Parental Counseling

And We have enjoined upon man to do good to his parents. His mother carried him with difficulty and delivered him with difficulty. And his carrying and his weaning is (in) thirty months, until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years, he says, “My Lord, grant me that I offer gratitude for the favour You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I do righteous deeds that You like. And set righteousness, for my sake, in my progeny. Of course, I repent to you, and truly I am one of those who submit to You.” (al-Ahqaf:15)

The rights and responsibilities of both the parent and child are among the core values of Islam.  When the relationship between parents and children are upright, human society flourishes in peace and justice.  When there is a problem in this crucial relationship, the society deteriorates and problems multiply.

In light of this, SBNY provides a great service to help mend the differences that come about between parents and children. Our Parental Counseling service helps re-build the natural bonds endowed by Allah and mutually resolves conflicts therein.  One-on-one counseling is provided in a safe and trustworthy environment under the guidance of the Quran and Sunnah.

In addition, guidance regarding parenting and an Islamic upbringing is provided as well as the duties of children towards their parents through our call service and under the 'Resources' tab found above.
